Meet Tise
At Tise, our goal is to make the world favori’Tise second hand by making it easy, fun, and inspiring to buy and sell pre-loved items through our marketplace. Sustainability is at the core of what we do, and we use our platform to help people make more conscious choices every day.
With millions of users across the Nordics and a passionate community of Tise’ers, we’ve experienced strong growth in recent years. Tise is now part of eBay, one of the world’s largest marketplaces — opening up a new chapter for scaling our product and technology even faster.
The Tise team counts around 100 people, with around 33 people in Oslo across: Product Management, Design, Engineering and Data & Machine Learning.
We are currently hiring a Full Stack Developer for one of our multi-functional product teams in Oslo.
What you will work on
You will be joining one of our multi-disciplinary product teams and oversee a marketplace domain end-to-end, from the database query to the pixels users tap.
Deliver end-to-end: Ship features across the stack in TypeScript. Build Node.js services on the backend, and React apps on the frontend. On larger projects, expect to go deep on backend and pair with dedicated web and mobile developers.
Work in one of several experience domains: Each team is responsible for a specific marketplace domain. Some of the domains include search, recommendations, shipping, payments, user safety, marketing tools, gamification, and more.
Solving problems together: Partner with your tech lead, PM, and designer to break down sophisticated problems, and bring others in when the work crosses team boundaries.
Dive into your domain: In order to solve user problems together, all members of the team need to fully understand the domains they own. They can clearly communicate their domain expertise to colleagues in other teams and departments.
Evolve the platform with other developers: Contribute to shared standards, code reviews, and tests that keep the codebase healthy as the team and platform grows.
What you will bring
Relevant team experience: At least 3+ years relevant engineering experience working in multi-functional product teams, or a product company.
Relevant technology experience: Solid knowledge of TypeScript, with a track-record of building backend services in Node.js and frontend experiences in React.js. You write production code with performance and scalability in mind.
Product perspective: You understand and care about the users’ needs, and build solutions that actually solve their problems.
Strong problem-solving skills: You work closely with the tech lead in your team to develop solutions for sophisticated problems, breaking down the problems and bringing in others when needed.
Curiosity: You thrive when diving into existing, complex codebases, and learn quickly.
Clear communication: You ask questions when you are stuck, share knowledge with your team, and clearly communicate progress.
